Rompe X Amazon Music Featuring REALITY
Turning artist storytelling into cultural documentation
As part of Amazon Music’s ROMPE program, focused on spotlighting the next generation of Spanish urban artists, Morning Coffee developed a social-first editorial campaign around emerging rapper Reality and the release of his EP Igual Que Nadie.
Rather than creating a traditional promotional rollout, the project was conceived as an intimate portrait of the artist: his roots, creative process, environment and personal vision for the future.
The result was a hybrid between documentary storytelling, street culture editorial and platform-native content designed for a digital audience raised on authenticity.
THE APPROACH
Morning Coffee developed a narrative-led content ecosystem built around Reality’s personal perspective, daily life and evolution as an artist.
Instead of placing the artist in a studio interview setup disconnected from his reality, the production followed him through meaningful spaces tied directly to his story, from the streets around Malasaña to La Santa studios and the environments surrounding his live performances.
The campaign explored themes including:
- Growing up in the neighborhood and how it shaped his identity.
- His beginnings in rap battles and underground culture.
- Balancing work and music before his breakthrough.
- The emotional process behind creating Igual Que Nadie.
- His relationship with live performances and future ambitions.
To structure the storytelling, the project was divided into emotional chapters:
- INICIO
- LUCHA
- OPORTUNIDAD
- FUTURO
Each section was tied to symbolic objects, locations and memories connected to different stages of Reality’s journey.
Visually, the campaign embraced a lo-fi hip hop aesthetic inspired by 90s rap culture, mixing handheld street footage, studio moments, concert documentation and post-production textures to create a raw and immersive visual language.
Additional content formats expanded the universe further:
- “Mapa de Canciones”, exploring Reality’s musical evolution and influences.
- “Tu Habitación de Pequeño”, diving into the artist’s earliest memories with rap culture.
- “Experiencia en Primera Persona”, documenting a day in Reality’s life around the EP launch.
- “Algo Nuevo, Algo Viejo, Algo Cyan”, symbolically marking the transition from emerging artist to national rap breakthrough.
THE RESULTS
The Reality campaign became one of the strongest performing ROMPE assets across Amazon Music Spain’s paid Instagram campaigns during Q2 2024.
The “Reality Rap en la Casa” asset generated:
- 1.7M paid impressions on Instagram
- One of the highest-performing ROMPE campaign deliveries of the quarter.
The broader Q2 ROMPE strategy also reinforced a key learning for Amazon Music:
social-first interview formats and narrative-driven artist storytelling consistently outperformed static or traditional promotional formats.
The campaign validated the effectiveness of:
- Intimate artist storytelling.
- Documentary-style formats.
- Street-level visual identity.
- Personality-led content over conventional music advertising.
THE IMPACT
Reality x Amazon Music ROMPE demonstrated how branded music content can move beyond promotion and become cultural storytelling.
Instead of presenting Reality as a product to market, the campaign treated him as a person with context, history and emotional depth, allowing audiences to connect not only with the music, but with the mentality and experiences behind it.
The project helped position Amazon Music ROMPE as a platform genuinely invested in emerging talent and reinforced Morning Coffee’s ability to create culturally-aware social storytelling rooted in authenticity rather than advertising conventions.
